UKY-E Hanging Scroll Oklahoma City Thunder

TEAM|Oklahoma City Thunder

Sale price$3,500.00

Inspired by "Chikuzen Hakozaki Kaichudo" from The Famous Views of the Sixty-odd Provinces, this piece fuses the Genkai Sea with the Oklahoma City skyline, featuring its iconic tower in the distance. Centered on the theme of explosive vitality that overcomes the harsh natural environments of typhoons and tornadoes, it depicts the young talent and powerful energy shared by both Fukuoka and Oklahoma within a single ukiyo-e world.

▼UKY-E KAKEJIKU
A collection of works titled UKY-E (UNBOUND KNOTTING YORE - EDITORIAL) that embodies the geographical and historical ties between Japanese and American cities. Just as ukiyo-e is composed of layers—sketches, woodblock carving, and coloring—this series overlays historical ukiyo-e prints from across Japan with actual photographs of corresponding U.S. landmarks, expressing timelines that transcend time and space. Produced in collaboration with Tokyo-based kakejiku master Taishin Sagawa, the mounting of these hanging scrolls incorporates fabrics and textures that symbolize the team's colors.
