UKY-E Hanging Scroll Compact Indiana Pacers

The foreground features the Yomeimon Gate, a symbol of Nikko Toshogu, while the background showcases the Indiana Circuit Tower. Tochigi, where the history of the Tokugawa Shogunate and traditional craftsmanship breathe, and Indiana, where basketball culture is deeply rooted. By fusing the spirits of both regions—each sharing a sense of tradition and passion—this piece depicts a story of unbreakable unity, as the team dons its signature shining yellow in pursuit of victory.

▼UKY-E KAKEJIKU
A collection named UKY-E (UNBOUND KNOTTING YORE - EDITORIAL) that embodies the geographical and historical ties between Japan and the United States. Much like ukiyo-e woodblock prints are composed of separate layers—initial sketches, carving, and coloring—this series overlays historical ukiyo-e from various parts of Japan with photographs of corresponding U.S. landmarks, expressing a timeline that transcends time and space. Produced in collaboration with Tokyo-based kakejiku artisan Taishin Sagawa, the mounting incorporates fabrics and textures that symbolize the team's colors.
